After many hours of work, I've completed converting a 20 year old photocopy of the script into digital format,
and it is available to download exclusively from this site.
Another Dune (1984) prop up for auction
On 30 July 2004 Profiles In History are having an eBay Live Auction,
selling many Hollywood props, including the Atreides pistol used by Gurney (Patrick Stewart) in Dune (1984).
New 'Unseen Dune' section online
I've added a new section to this site, dealing with the previous attempts to bring Frank Herbert's novel to the silver screen.
Contains lots of text and images from Alejandro Jodorowsky, Chris Foss, HR Giger, Mœbius and Dan O'Bannon.
New Dune DVD from Universal?
'The Rumor Mill' at thedigitalbits.com reports that Universal may be working on a special edition of Dune, to be released later this year.
This is the 20th Anniversary of David Lynch's Dune, so hopefully the rumour might be true.
"The Faces of a Martyr" available online
As they did in 2002 with the introductory short story 'Hunting Harkonnens', and in 2003 with the introductory short story 'The Whipping Mek', Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson have written another original short story, 'The Faces of a Martyr', as a bridge spotlighting the events in between 'The Machine Crusade' and 'The Battle Of Corrin'.

On 5 April 2004 Sanctuary Visual Entertainment are releasing what looks like the best Dune (1984) DVD to date.
Not only has it got 2.35:1 anamorphic Widescreen picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, but also some fantastic extras.
It is also Multi-Region (PAL format).

Prototype Dune Game for the Atari 2600 Discovered
AtariProtos.com has details of a previously forgotten Dune game, based on the 1984 movie, designed for the Atari 2600.

Night 1 of Children of Dune won the Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special.

Dr. Willis E. McNelly passes away
The author of the Dune Encyclopedia, and close friend to Frank Herbert, passed away in his sleep at 12:45 am on April 7, 2003 after a courageous battle with Mesothelomia at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, California.

"Children of Dune" Miniseries to air.
Sci Fi Channel has ordered a 6 hour script from New Amsterdam Entertainment and its corporate partner Victor Television (ABC Network Subsidiary) for a "Dune" sequel miniseries to be based on Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, the next two books in Frank Herbert's "Dune" chronicles. The script will be written by John Harrison for a projected December 2002 airdate.
