On 5 April 2004 Sanctuary Visual Entertainment are releasing what looks like the best Dune (1984) DVD to date.
Not only has it got 2.35:1 anamorphic Widescreen picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, but also some fantastic extras.
It is also Multi-Region (PAL format).

The author of the Dune Encyclopedia, and close friend to Frank Herbert, passed away in his sleep at 12:45 am on April 7, 2003 after a courageous battle with Mesothelomia at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton, California.

"Children of Dune" Miniseries to air.
Sci Fi Channel has ordered a 6 hour script from New Amsterdam Entertainment and its corporate partner Victor Television (ABC Network Subsidiary) for a "Dune" sequel miniseries to be based on Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, the next two books in Frank Herbert's "Dune" chronicles. The script will be written by John Harrison for a projected December 2002 airdate.
